FBA Maryland Chapter Committees

Getting involved in a committee is one of the most impactful ways to engage with the Federal Bar Association Maryland Chapter. Our committees offer members the chance to deepen their involvement in the federal legal community, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that support professional growth, inclusion, and civic leadership. Whether you're passionate about planning events, supporting younger lawyers, driving diversity, or shaping the Chapter’s long-term strategy, there’s a place for you.

Committee service not only enhances your skills and visibility within the profession but also helps build lasting relationships with peers and members of the judiciary. Each committee plays a vital role in ensuring the Chapter fulfills its mission of advancing justice and promoting excellence in federal practice.

The DiRito Award Committee is responsible for selecting the recipient of the annual Peter A. DiRito Award, which honors outstanding public service aligned with the FBA’s mission. Established in 1987, the award commemorates former Chapter President Peter A. DiRito’s exceptional leadership and commitment to the legal community.
