In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the FBA Maryland Chapter recognizes José Bahamonde-González, a trailblazer in the legal field who left an indelible mark through his dedication to diversity, mentorship, and the Hispanic community. As the first Hispanic dean at a Maryland law school, he served for over two decades until his death on May 15, 2022 at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he held pivotal roles including associate dean for administrative affairs and student services, and associate dean for professional education.
